Artist's Description
The Eyes of History Print and Poster
Created 12/26/15
Eleanor Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Bobby Kennedy, MLK, Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass and Jefferson look down upon the Old Man of the Mountain and Barack Obama in a symbolic homage to the struggle for freedom, human rights and the dignity of all. President Obama bore the burden of not only the hopes and dreams of his countrymen and women but the weight of history. This image is a collage of some of the many people on whose shoulders our President stood. The quote is a reminder that the burdens and the challenges are a part of a continuum that began with the words of Jefferson and each of the people pictured have played a role in bringing the dream to fruition for all Americans.

King holds a BS Degree in Environmental Conservation and a Masters Degree in Earth & Space Science Education from the University of New Hampshire, Durham. While at the University of NH King studied photography under Richard Merritt. His colleagues from those heady days today are among the most noted artists: Edward...
