The Green Edge - Washday in Dominica
Abstract color image of a washline photographed on the Nature Island of Dominica in the Eastern Caribbean. Photographed at the home of my friends Rick and Carol Stobaeus who have a home in the rain forest of Dominica, as close to heaven as it gets on this planet.
Carol had hung her wash out on the morning of my visit and I was captivated. I must have captured 50 images of the same washline from every conceivable angle and I am still discovering new ways to rejoice in the imagery that has emerged.
In this image I have thrown the entire line out of focus with the exception of one single line of Rick's veterinary smock - is a man's shirt referred to as a smock? - ok his uniform! It is fitting that the line I chose to emphasize is the green line because of all the places I have visited on this wonderous planet Dominica is the most deserving of the label Green.
