Poet Donald Hall was a huge baseball fan but he also had a very prominently displayed collection of antique marbles. I had the good fortune of visiting Donald and Jane in 1992 when we were working together on creating protective covenants for the land surrounding Mount Kearsarge in the area around his hometown and surrounding towns. At that time Donald gave me a handfull of the ceramic marbles you can see in this image. I have kept them in a safe place and have gifted a small number of them to a friend who has great affection for the work of Donald Hall and his wonderful poet wife Jane Kenyon.
